Short Horror Story- Third Floor

It's a story from my friend Jojan's diary

Short Horror Story: 

I have always been a doubt in my mind that is there is any chance of spirits in this world and what about the authenticity of the stories that are been heard from others. But I would like to tell you a real story that I have witnessed in my college days.

When I completed my 12^th, my parents decided to send me to a college, in a far city from my hometown for graduation. So, I had no other choice than to stay in the college hostel. The hostel was having two sections, each are three story buildings. The first block was for 11^th and 12^th students. But the second block was for PG and UG students. Since I was doing my UG, I got a room in the second block. My room was in second floor, and I was quite happy with that, as many of my friends were in nearby rooms. As the hostel warden was having a liberal view on room selections, most of them were able to choose their rooms nearby their friends’.

After some time, I made friendship with almost everyone in the hostel and has got some stories about the braveries and other activities done by the previous hostel mates. We were having serious discussions on these types of stories on evenings. One such day, one of our friends has put a new subject into it; horror stories. He was having a genuine reason for starting this subject, as he was been experiencing something during his hostel stay.

Firstly we started the discussion, very gently and people started telling some stories that seemed to be very unreal and not true. Then we had a discussion on whether ghosts are there or not.

This time the friend, who started the discussion, started telling a story about a room in our hostel. The room was in our block and it was in third floor. Actually that friend was staying in the opposite room of that. What he tried to say was, the room he mentioned won’t be given to anybody to stay and moreover it has been closed for many years. But nobody knows what is the reason behind it, but people stays in the nearby rooms, have heard some screaming sounds at night times.

We could not believe this story, when we heard it first time. Then we gone and checked with many people, who had been staying in the hostel for long time. Even they have clarified the story is true but nobody knows, what is wrong with the room.

After some two weeks, a new guy from another city, which is very far from that city joined our college and took an admission in the hostel as well. He got a room in first floor and tried to make friendship with all of us. He was having a different tradition and a different tongue from us, but in third floor of our block, there were five people who were having the same mother tongue of him. He easily mingled with them and they became good friends and became gang.

During this time, he started searching a room in third floor. All rooms were occupied, except the “ghost room”. So, he went to warden and made a request to change his room to that. Warden was not ready with that as he was also heard some news about this room before, but even he was not sure what happened in that room, as it was not used for many years. But as this guy was doing some emotional blackmailing for few days and finally warden agreed to give that room.

They opened the room next day, to occupy the new tenant. Everyone was very anxious about what is inside the room and was eagerly waiting to see what is inside. We could only find some old furniture and the room was very dirty. They removed the old furniture present in the room and cleaned room and put new furniture in it. We thought we have been mistaken by the fake stories related the room, as we could not find anything suspicious in the room.

On that night at around 1.30 PM, we heard some terribly fearful screaming sound from that room, and the guy who started staying in the room was jumping out of the room, with a screaming sound. He ran to ground floor and started running through the ground floor by whispering something like a mad man. Then our warden called up the hospital guys, took him to hospital. Later he was taken to a psychiatric hospital, as he was completely abnormal. His parents came in, and they took him to their native for further treatment. After that he never came back and we have no information about him at all. We are not sure what happened to that guy at that night. Perhaps he may not be able tell this to anyone else in this world with him normal mindset. But one thing is very sure, there is something in this world, which we can’t understand with our sense and its perception.
